This unprecedented data set consists of 782 palm oil mills, spread across 15 countries. As anticipated, the vast majority of these mills are found in Malaysia (50 percent) and Indonesia (44 percent). The palm oil mill solid waste which consists of EFB fibre, oil palm mesocarp fibre, oil palm shell and palm oil mill fly ash was collected from local palm oil mill. Six cycles of washing and overnight soaking cleaning process utilising clean domestic tap water were performed on the EFB fibre, oil palm mesocarp fibre and oil palm shell to eliminate impurities which included the residual palm oil.
