Zampalm Plantation is Zambia’s first ever commercial oil palm plantation. The Plantation is in Kanchibiya district, Muchinga province. Zampalm owns 20,238 hectares of titled land. A total of 3,864 hectares is under oil palm cultivation. Further, there is 1,100 hectares under out-grower scheme managed by Oil Palm Out-Growers Company (OPOC).
A 2-tonnes-per-hour crushing mill was built this year, with plans for a second 2-tonne plant in 2017 and a further 10-tonne plant in the following year, taking crude palm oil production up to.
